Grants

The Funeral Grant (FG) refers to financial support provided by the JCPD to offset funeral expenses for a deceased registered client with the JCPD. The grant offers a maximum of Fifty Thousand Jamaican Dollars (JMD $50,000.00) towards funeral expenses.

Eligibility:

1. The deceased individual must have been registered with the JCPD.
2. The applicant must complete a grant application
3. The caregiver/next of kin must provide the following:
4. Burial Order
5. Invoice of funeral expenses,
6. Receipt towards the funeral expenses.
7. Applicants must be unemployed or earning no more than the national minimum wage as determined by the Government of Jamaica.

 JCPD’s role and responsibility:

The JCPD Officer must ensure that the following documents are current and are submitted upon application for this grant.: 

1. The burial order or death certificate.
2. Invoice for burial
3. Completed Funeral Grant application form.
4. Proof of payment towards the funeral expenses in the form of a receipt.
